Sedation-Dentistry

What does Oral conscious sedation mean?

Oral conscious sedation is a procedure involving the administration of oral sedative drugs, also known as anti-anxiety or happy pills, such as diazepam, triazolam, zaleplon, lorazepam, and hydroxyzine.

What is the usage?

The drugs are used to relax patients scared of dental treatment and can be taken the night before the scheduled appointment to help patients fall asleep and get some rest. The level of sedation can range from minimal to moderate depending on the total dose administered.
