How should I store my Dentures?

Dentures are made from acrylic, chrome cobalt (metal) or valplast (flexible plastic). The plastic denture is usually cost effective as more teeth can be added if anymore is lost and breakages can be repaired. The metal or chrome cobalt denture is a more comfortable solution as it is not bulky and minimal in size, but cannot have more teeth added to it. Dentures can either be a partial denture that replaces some teeth or a full denture replacing all teeth.
Implant retained dentures are more stable and removable.

Removable partial dentures can be used as an alternative to a Fixed Bridge and replace one or more missing teeth as they are usually held on by other teeth and the gums. Dentures are held in by tissue or with wire clasps on the teeth.

Denture adhesive cream or dental implants can be used to achieve adequate retention. Implants are usually placed in the front of the jaw, which is held in by either a ball, bar or stud like attachment and rubber washers are fitted onto the denture.

Making a denture is relatively straight forward procedure that involves one to three appointments depending on the patient. New technology allows dentures to be made thin, comfortable to wear and natural in appearance. But wearing a denture may not be easy and we are happy to discuss the different options available with you.
